On October 29, the PATA Hosted Buyers Summit Baku 2026 was held in Baku. The event was jointly organized by the State Tourism Agency, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). At the summit, local tourism companies discussed cooperation opportunities with more than 50 tourism professionals from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.
In the "hosted buyers" model, tour operators and travel organizers acting as buyers meet directly with suppliers — hotels, tour agencies, and transport companies. In other words, negotiations do not remain at the level of general presentations but move to discussion of specific packages and prices.
Guests arriving from the Asia-Pacific region usually stay longer and organize group trips; this is a segment that increases the load of restaurants and additional services for hotels. For hotels and guesthouses in Baku, the results of such meetings can be seen directly in sales channels — especially through tour operators working with Chinese and Korean groups.
