Azerbaijan-India political dialogue is reviving: Jaishankar's Baku visit
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar's visit to Baku and his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev indicate that political contacts between the two countries have become more active following a cold period.

President Ilham Aliyev received India's Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on October 23. The minister conveyed greetings from Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and stated that the visit was being carried out on the prime minister's instructions.
This is not an isolated event. President Ilham Aliyev's meeting with Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's Bishkek Summit, India's participation in the AQEM Baku Summit, and now the minister's visit are mutually complementary political contacts. The source assesses this as an opportunity for positive change after the chill that arose against the backdrop of differences of opinion.
Jaishankar said at a press conference that ways to further deepen relations with Azerbaijan were discussed and that it is possible to raise ties to a higher level. As part of the visit, the minister also visited the Ateshgah temple.
From a HoReCa perspective, the key point is this: political rapprochement is usually followed by practical matters such as the visa regime, direct flights and tourist flows. At present, no concrete decision on this has been announced, but an expansion of tourism exchange would mean a new guest segment for hotels and guesthouses.
