Japan has recommended five regions for tourists for 2027

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has recommended five regions for foreign tourists visiting the country in 2027 — Nara, Kagawa, Shimane, Niigata and Kanagawa.

According to the organization's statement, the common features that bring these regions to the fore are cultural heritage, contemporary art, gastronomy and new luxury hotel investments.

The recommendation list is based not only on sights, but also on the expansion of the hotel offering. This shows Japan's desire to redirect tourist flows away from the capital and the most popular routes.
