WTTC aims to support one million tourism small and medium-sized enterprises
At the WTTC Global Summit held in the city of Malta, support for one million tourism small and medium-sized enterprises was discussed. According to the organization's estimates, a 10% increase in productivity could bring 63 billion dollars to global tourism GDP.

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) announced at its Global Summit held in Malta that it aims to support one million tourism small and medium-sized enterprises through the "Together in Travel Community" platform. The summit was attended by more than a thousand participants, including over 200 leading company executives and government representatives.
According to WTTC's statement, small and medium-sized enterprises make up more than 85% of global travel and tourism businesses. The organization calculates that if the productivity of these enterprises increases by 10%, an additional 63 billion dollars in value could be created for global tourism GDP.
The main topic of the summit was improving small businesses' access to skills, finance and digital tools. WTTC presents this as the key to strengthening the sector's resilience and growth.
In Azerbaijan, small family businesses, guesthouses and independent restaurants make up a large part of the tourism and food service market. Since their access to digital tools and finance is limited, the opportunities created by such international platforms may also be relevant for the local market in the coming years.
