A bill for foreign digital hotel platforms passed the committee in Türkiye
The commission of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye has adopted a bill introducing licensing, representative, tax and tourism share obligations for foreign digital placement platforms. If the law enters into force, the commission on domestic sales will be capped at 17 percent.

The Public Works, Reconstruction, Transport and Tourism Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has adopted a legislative proposal concerning foreign digital accommodation platforms. The proposal imposes obligations on platforms to obtain a permit document, maintain a representative in Turkey, and pay taxes and a tourism share.
If the law enters into force, the activities of platforms in Turkey will fall within a framework of permits and supervision, and commissions on domestic-to-domestic sales will be capped at 17 percent.
The commission cap and the local representative requirement may affect the pricing policies and contract terms of platforms. The proposal's enactment is still pending; the commission stage is not the final stage.
