Purebread intends to acquire the 27-year-old Caffè Artigiano cafe chain
Purebread Brands, operating in the British Columbia region of Canada, has signed a letter of intent to acquire the Caffè Artigiano café chain.

Purebread Brands and Caffè Artigiano, both operating in Canada's British Columbia region, have begun preparations for a merger. The companies have announced that they signed a letter of intent for Purebread to acquire Artigiano, including its corporate and franchise operations in Canada.
If the deal goes through, Purebread's 16 company-operated bakery and café locations will combine with Artigiano's 11 franchise locations to create a network of 27 locations in total. An additional seven Artigiano locations are currently in the development stage.
According to Purebread CEO Christian Bullock, Artigiano has been shaping Vancouver's café culture for more than 25 years and has maintained its standards under the leadership of Dean Shillington. He stated that the merger will create an opportunity for both brands to reach new audiences.
According to the company's statement, the acquisition will allow Purebread to leverage its baking production capacity across a broader café network and to expand the distribution of its products. Artigiano's president and CEO, Dean Shillington, said that both brands share the principle of doing simple things well.
