The opening of the Culture Days of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus took place in Baku.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, speaking at the TRNC Culture Day event held in Baku, announced that significant progress has been made towards the start of charter flights between Azerbaijan and the TRNC.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is being promoted through the "TRNC Culture Day" event held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that a significant stage has been reached regarding the initiation of charter flights between Azerbaijan and the TRNC.
ÜSTEL: “WE ARE WAITING FOR THE START OF CHARTER FLIGHTS”
Speaking at the event organized in Baku's historic Icherisheher district under the Ada Cyprus project, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that transportation must be facilitated to expand tourism goals. Expressing that they expect regular charter flights to begin between the two countries after the completion of cooperation agreements, Üstel said this would make significant contributions to tourism, trade, education, and brotherly relations.
“TURKEY, AZERBAIJAN, AND THE TRNC ARE PARTS OF THE SAME NATION”
Emphasizing that relations between the TRNC and Azerbaijan are based on common history, culture, language, and values, Üstel stated that Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the TRNC are inseparable parts of the same nation. Noting that relations with Azerbaijan gained historical momentum after observer membership in the Organization of Turkic States, Üstel noted that the will demonstrated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev played an important role in this process.

Also referring to the Summit of Heads of Government of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku, Üstel stated that for the first time in TRNC history, a prime minister attended the summit upon Azerbaijan's invitation and was officially received by the Azerbaijani Prime Minister. He said this is a strong indicator of the value given to the Turkish Cypriot people.
ATAOĞLU: “WE ARE TOGETHER WITH THE UNDERSTANDING OF THREE STATES, ONE NATION”
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that the brotherly ties between the TRNC and Azerbaijan are strengthening day by day. Expressing that the event is a strong indicator of the "Three states, one nation" understanding, Ataoğlu said the TRNC will continue to further develop its ties with the Turkic world.
TRNC CULTURE IS BEING PROMOTED IN BAKU
Within the scope of the event, the Lefkosa Folklor Dernegi presented folk dance performances, while Grup Otantik gave a concert. Azerbaijani artists and folk dance groups also performed on stage. Throughout the day, Northern Cyprus-specific dishes, handicraft products, and cultural values were presented to visitors at the stands set up.
