On October 15, the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) was held in Baku.
According to the source, CICA was proposed in 1992 and currently unites 29 member states, with Laos having also joined. The organization covers approximately 90 percent of the territory and population of the Asian continent, and member countries account for approximately 40 percent of global gross domestic product. The United States, Japan, as well as the UN and the OSCE are represented on the platform with observer status.
CICA's activities are not limited to military-political security alone — economy, ecology, transport and humanitarian spheres are also covered.
Summit meetings create a flow of official delegations, journalists and observers to the capital, which affects hotel occupancy and the revenue of catering establishments. For hotels and restaurants in Baku, monitoring the calendar of such events in advance is useful in terms of preparing for the flow of guests.
