Long-stay projects in US hotel construction have reached 40%
According to Lodging Econometrics data, in the third quarter, 40% of hotel construction projects in the US accounted for the extended-stay segment, while the number of projects in the luxury and upper-upscale segments reached a record level.

According to the third-quarter report by the research firm Lodging Econometrics, 40% of hotel construction projects in the US are in the extended stay format. The number of projects in the luxury and upper upscale segments has reached a record level.
This shows that investors are gravitating toward two different directions at the same time: on one hand, a sustainable format with kitchens for guests staying longer and independent travelers, and on the other, the high-revenue luxury segment.
This trend has indirect significance for the Azerbaijani market: in Baku and the regions, apartment-style, kitchen-equipped small hotel formats for business trips and long assignments are still scarce. If international franchise chains' interest in this segment grows, it could create both competitive and partnership opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
